The Intervention of St. Anthony |
________________________________________________________________________________
I began making quilts with their quotidian function as bedding as my intention.
Then I drifted . . . I learned to dye fabric, kept an indigo vat for 15 years, taught myself to embroider,
fell in love with all manner of beads and ethnic fabrics.
The quilts were still quilts, but they seemed to belong on the wall.

I have lived visually, culturally, and culinarily rich cultures.
For this I am grateful.
My travels have informed my work. I am grateful to the countries of Mexico and Italy
and Great Britian and the Czech Republic.
